Catch the Happy Hour at McCormick & Kuleto's By Asal Sadatrafiei There is a hidden treasure in Ghirardelli Square. McCormick & Kuleto's is an upscale seafood restaurant located on the north side of the square, with a refreshing view of Fisherman's Wharf. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner with a tasty menu featuring daily specials of fresh seafood. Another perk of this spot is the happy hour. The bar menu consists of cheeseburger with fries, calamari, popcorn shrimp, Caesar salad or oysters. The cheeseburger is one of the best I've ever had and the fries are perfect. I enjoy the Caesar salad with whole leaves of romaine lettuce and slices of fresh parmesan. The calamari is also a fun, crunchy treat. Each dish costs a mere $1.95 with a minimum $3 beverage (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) per person. One might expect the bar dishes to be smaller, but they are full-sized servings. This place does not try to trick you; it's just a great deal! The lemonade ($3.25) is freshly squeezed at the bar and tastes great. The bottled Coronas ($4.25) are served with a fresh lime. The cocktails are also gourmet. I tried the Tiramisu martini once and it tastes exactly how it sounds…yummy. Cocktails range from $8-9. The bar area accommodates small groups of two-to-four persons and features friendly bartenders and cocktail servers. After eating, it's nice to take a stroll around Ghirardelli Square or walk along the water down at the Wharf. Keep in mind this bar menu is only available Monday through Friday from 3-6 p.m. The restaurant is part of the McCormick & Schmidt's chain of seafood restaurants. Parking is available in the Ghirardelli Square parking garage for $2 for two hours with validation. Street parking is also available. McCormick & Kuleto's Seafood Restaurant 5/5 stars!!
