The Road to Nowhere
In the first hazy hours of the morning after kayaking to Ahjumawi Lava Springs State Park, we enjoyed a stroll down to the dock. Mugs of coffee in hand, and birds cooing in the distance, we stumbled upon a moment of idyllic solitude. I didn’t know what to expect on my first Rec Pass Trip, but the beauty of Northern California took me by complete surprise. Here, the hours passed by like molasses — we had nothing but time. On the water or on the shore, the beauty of the great outdoors revealed itself to us in shades of blue, green, and golden yellow.
