Upcoming Event Planning

GPSA is always looking for feedback regarding GPSA-sponsored events such as the Winter Formal, Casino Night, and Multicultural Diversity Night. If you are interested in providing feedback or participating in event planning next year, please contact our current or incoming executive board.

Housing Updates

The Housing Committee is planning on having all term limits end during the three months of summer, varying among the academic programs. The term limit ends regardless of when a student moved into student housing. The term limits are implemented to allow equal access to housing for students of all programs, regardless of matriculation. Students interested in influencing housing policy at UCSF are encouraged to serve on the Housing Committee during the upcoming academic year.

UCSA Hosted Meeting

Three students were chosen to move on to the final interviews for the incoming Student Regent. The finalists will be interviewed by the current regents. In additional UCSA news, it was proposed that students will be invited to participate on hiring committees for faculty members.

Food Security

As part of the University of California (UC) Global Food Initiative, the university is looking inward, to ensure that its own students have food security, as it takes on the bigger issue of hunger around the world.  In March 2015, UC President Janet Napolitano asked all UC campuses to develop their own, local food security for students programs. UCSF planning is currently underway and details regarding the final UCSF program will be coming in late-summer.
