Humans of UCSF: Running For Diabetes
“Hailing from France, I started as a Postdoc at UCSF 18 years ago. I now work at the Diabetes Center as a facility manager, and I also manage the Mouse Metabolism Core.
I enjoy my working environment because I help great research being done. Being healthy is a priority for me, so at least three times a week, you can find me in a BodyPump class at the Millberry Union gym.
For three years now, I have been participating in the Diabetes Center Miracle mile/5K Holiday Race. I volunteered the first year, and the energy coming from the runners motivated me to participate in the 5K race the following years. This year is the fifth edition of the now popular event, and I’ll be running the Miracle mile!
What I love about this event is that at the same time of being a registered race, you can also see entire families running together. Also, this is a fundraising event, so all proceeds will benefit research, education and patient care conducted at the UCSF Diabetes Center.
So join us to run your personal best, or be part of our happy volunteer crew on December 16. Check out the following link and join us to cure diabetes https://miraclemile.ucsf.edu/.”
