A Daughter Remembers
During the Cambodian genocide, everything was taken away from the people, including color. After nearly 4 years under the Khmer Rouge regime, my mother received a green sarong from her mother. Freedom. To be standing as a graduate of UCSF in her sarong, I am overwhelmed with humility and empowerment.
