Athabasca Glacier
Behind them is the Athabasca glacier. It erodes along the same mountain face that has now compressed the wind into a chilling gust. The gust has blown up billions of ice crystals that diffuse and diffract the pattern of light, generating a strange brownian haze. The glacier’s length is 6 kilometers, and the thickness is over 100 meters. it has stood for 200,000 years, growing and shrinking every rotation around the sun. It has co-existed a time period consisting of the generation and extinction of thousands of species. But the two men standing here today will likely outlive the glacier.
