Flowers Blooming

This photo was taken along a hiking trail in San Diego, California and documents flowers blooming out of the tall grass. Taken from the level of the ground, facing up towards the sky, these flowers appear to be reaching high up into the nearly cloudless sky. This angle gives them a larger-than-life appearance. While for someone walking along the trail, these flowers are small and maybe easy to miss, from the ground these flowers are a striking part of the landscape, in all stages of their growth from the buds to the full flower, and a reminder of the power of perspective.
