La Jolla Sunset
My friend in LA decided to drive us down to San Diego on Thanksgiving Day. She said she really likes driving; I had no complaints. We had dim sum with a high school friend I haven’t met since 2019. Then, we headed to the cove. The water folded gently on top of the rocks like ruffled tablecloth. Orange hues peaked through the horizon. A cool, ocean breeze passed by. I took my film camera out to shoot the scenery. As the shutter went off, I saw, through the viewfinder, a bird fly across the sky. I hope the bird was in the shot, I thought. I’ll find out after the film develops. That is the beauty of analog photography for me – not knowing how the image would turn out and looking forward to the end of shooting a roll of film.
