North on Van Ness

After construction lasting my entire time in the San Francisco Bay Area (and a couple years on top of it), the Van Ness Improvement Project was finally completed in the past spring in the heart of SF. Without any detours, construction, or orange reflector cones, the signature north-south arterial is finally able to show off its scale in a way that I never experienced before in my entire time here. Just a month or two before it opened officially, hints of its grandeur were finally visible in front of City Hall and the performing arts complexes around it. Add a fantastic Beethoven’s 9th Symphony performance and you have a great evening in SF!
