UCSF Women's Health Wednesday
On the first Wednesday of each month, the UCSF National Center of Excellence in Women's Health hosts "UCSF Women's Health Wednesday" at the Mt. Zion Women's Health Center. Each event focuses on a health topic specific to women, and generally includes activities, health information and giveaways.
During the month of October, Women's Health Wednesday will focus on Interpersonal Violence. As 1 in 4 women will experience physical violence at some point in their life, this is a serious public health issue that impacts all of us. To raise awareness of the harm caused by Interpersonal Violence, UCSF partnered with The Clothesline Project to create a visual display that bears witness to violence against women. The display will consist of shirts hung on clothesline, each decorated to represent an individual woman’s experience with Interpersonal Violence.
To decorate a shirt, visit the Mt. Zion Women's Health Center on Wed, September 30 or Wed, October 7 from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm. The shirts will be revealed in the Women's Health Center Healing Garden on October 7 from 12-1 pm.
