Humans of UCSF: Dawn Surratt

"When I think about growing old in this country, unless you have a really tight family and/or a chosen family, growing old is not pretty. I want to use the privileges I’ve been given, like my education, to change what aging is like in this country, especially in the LGBT community. A lot of these people have been ostracized from their families. How do we take care of one another intentionally and how do we create and sustain caring communities? That’s one of my passions."
