Humans of UCSF: Global Insight

“Growing up in a more rural area of California, I was always curious about the greater world. I found the diverse array of customs, beliefs, and for some reason politics across the globe to be fascinating. After years of flipping to the back pages of the local newspaper, I was ultimately inspired to major in international relations when I went to college. Although I focus on domestic politics in my research now (which I totally enjoy), I’m fortunate to work at a place that brings me into contact with individuals from around the world. Not only does it bring fresh perspectives for how I think about things, but it provides a unique appreciation for how interconnected our world has become. I can only hope that over time we as a nation will continue to reduce barriers and find an even greater bond with our international neighbors.”
