Komorebi

Komorebi, a Japanese word that describes the interplay of sunlight filtering through leaves, captures this image precisely. Captured in this image, the recent spring blossoms glow against the vast blue ocean stretching all the way to Japan, and the Marin hills present in the distance, steadfast and familiar. Along the Batteries to Bluff Trail, as a jacket protects me from the wind, sunlight warms my soul. 

To have stood among the happy dancing flowering branches, feeling the light that’s travelled across the sky besides the ocean, bridging ends of the worlds – it’s beautiful, grounding, and the view always refreshes me.
