A Postcard of Baker Beach
[Third place winner in the Synapse Storytelling Contest photography category.]
Baker Beach during my first San Francisco heat wave was a sight to behold. The shore transformed into a colorful patchwork of beach towels, umbrellas, and swimsuits, with the Golden Gate peeking out from the haze. It seemed like everybody else in the city was also here chasing the heat, the warmth offering refuge from the fog that usually blankets the city.
