Sake Barrels on Film
I took this photo two summers ago on a trip to Japan. This location is a popular tourist spot, located at the main entrance of the Meiji Jingu Shrine in Tokyo. Each is empty but decorated and donated by local Japanese brewers as offerings to the shrine. The sake barrels have a rich history, both culturally and spiritually significant. The shrine itself is in the middle of Tokyo and offers a quiet respite to an otherwise bustling city. I was so grateful to be able to see these famous barrels in person and admire the craftsmanship and love put into their creation.
