Surprise!

This squirrel is standing on its hind legs, with its mouth wide open in an expression of strong surprise. Behind the squirrel, the beautiful turquoise of the rolling waves provides a strong backdrop to complement the green, yellow, and red hues of the plants growing along the coast. The bright sunlight gives all the colors a warm feeling in this picture. The squirrel had paused munching on the base of the plants to stand up and observe its surroundings. While we will never know exactly what the squirrel was thinking in this moment, we can relate to the feeling of being surprised by the unexpected.
