Humans of UCSF: Making Friends
“My name is Rebecca Jaszczak. Yup, Snake Zebra Cat Zebra. It’s okay, you can be jealous of my mnemonic. My husband taught it to me. Some people just call me R. It’s not unlike the programming language, but we don’t live in a studio. I do, however, love bioinformatics. During graduate school, I went from pipetting every day to picking up every coding language I can. I love a challenge — clearly, since I moved to San Francisco from West Virginia. Yes, I know I’m the first West Virginian you’ve ever met. If you’re wandering through Regeneration Medicine Building, come by my desk — you can meet my betta fish!”
